She said she'd been working on the Smyril line for eight years, but I suspect she only recently became a waitress. Firstly because she seemed extremely tentative and lacking confidence about the whole thing. And secondly, when I wanted to order some wine, where "some" meant more than a glass, she offered the small carafe or the large carafe, I'm pretty sure she said a half-liter or a full liter. Being thirsty I ordered the large, and only later realized that a full bottle of wine is only 750ml. There was no way I was going to drink a liter of wine. And since I was sharing the table with a twelve-year-old, I would think that a more experienced waitress would have given me at least an "are you sure you want a whole liter?".
I tried, but I couldn't get through the whole liter. But it did succeed in adding extra spice to the 5:30am wakeup call the next morning--they needed to clear the rooms by 6:30 so they could turn them around for the return trip. Great fun.
