Taking the ferry through the Faroes was just stupendous. You know Monument Valley, where John Ford and all those guys liked to shoot Westerns so much? It was like that, but dropped in the middle of the North Atlantic and filled with water. With tiny little towns perched on the banks of these ginormous slopes. Just incredible.
Talked to the Polish waitress at dinner, she's been working on the boat for like eight years. She likes it because it's four weeks on and four weeks off. My new record for Best Shift Evar (previous was Amtrak's California Zephyr, something like four days on and a week off).
11pm ship time. The North Atlantic is smooth as glass, barely even a ripple, but the ship still has a pretty good roll going. The lounge is quieter tonight, maybe because of the 5:30am wakeup call they're going to give us tomorrow to get us all off the boat.
